Manifesto · v1
A slow social network.
For two decades the dominant social platforms have optimised for one metric: time on site. The cost of that optimisation has been borne by our nervous systems, our relationships and our capacity for considered thought.
We are not against the internet. We are against this version of it.
ITTEE begins from a different premise. People are interesting. Most people, most of the time, given a thoughtful question and the permission to answer it slowly, will say something worth reading. The problem has never been a shortage of substance. The problem has been the surface those answers were posted on.
Our four commitments
No engagement metrics on display.
You will never see another user's follower count, post count or streak. You will see what they have thought.
Identity follows substance.
Your name and face are not the entry ticket. They become available when both parties agree that this conversation deserves them.
One question a day.
One prompt. Everyone, everywhere. There is nothing to scroll past.
One message to start.
You may write one introduction to a stranger. They decide if a second message exists. The medium is the manners.
We'd like to try rewarding the most considered.
